We offer high trend fun rock and roll home and fashion goodies. You can see us at our new location on the upper east side of NYC in Spring '07.
At TiKaBou we will be making every effort to remain 'green' in the build out of the shop. We want to be part of the new line of defense for the environment. We will be using low VOC paints and glues where possible. Renewable resources for flooring, and remain as responsible as we can in terms of disposal and demo. We want TiKaBou to be a healthy environment for everyone. And we are making every effort to be part of the solution here in nyc, by making a few simple changes in how we do things.
On a personal note, I just want to say thank you to all our loyal customers! Becoming a female business owner this year while living with chronic illness is not something I expected to do. Nor is it a feat I ever dreamed possible. It is a constant struggle but when you have a dream or a vision, the only option is to keep going. Especially when it is a challenge. All I can say is don't ever give up. If you don't vibe with your doctors, you owe it to yourselves to find one that understands you and your condition. And if you think that maybe they are wrong about their assessment of you, you might want to follow your instinct and keep on looking for the right medical care. It can take years to find a correct diagnosis, or to get the right treatment. But if you keep fighting, you will get there. Guaranteed. It literally took me 20+ years of saying "I really don't feel well" until someone heard me. And I had to knock on many doors. And today at 38, while I am not perfect I know I am doing everything that I can to get the treatment that I need. Here's what I have: An ugly sleep disorder with really fragmented stage 3 & 4 sleep. Peripheral neuropathy. Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome. Which all together just means that I am pretty weak and exhausted all the time. Standing for too long is not the best feeling. It gets more complex, but that's a quick summary. Please email me if any of you are suffering and need advice, or just want to swap stories ;)
So the moral of the story is DON'T GIVE UP!!! I am amazed that I have gotten to this point and so grateful that i finally have! It makes the hard days better! And the good ones just amazing! For me, this is just the beginning of a long healing process. And also the beginning of a wild ride with the business! But I love what I do! I love meeting all my customers and watching them walk around in some fabulous outfits that they feel great wearing. I love finding cool designers that emphasize quality in their lines, as well as extreme style. If you come into the store I hope you can all see that we love our clothes and stand behind them! I will never settle for less with my style choices and will always sell 'stunners'! That's what I live to do. I walk into my store everyday and just go 'Ga-Ga' over the labels that I carry. All the staff can't wait for our new orders to come in, and we voraciously tear through the boxes to unearth the newest Tikabou treats!!!
We certainly hope that is evident when you come through our doors! We will only sell you the best quality, hottest lines, and always at the best possible price. We strive to remain unique and to carry designers who we feel are cutting edge. This is our promise. I hope you can all come visit us soon!
